How It Works
AI Analytics runs as a background job with four phases:
Phase 1: Data Aggregation
- Pre-computes quantitative statistics from all responses
- Groups text responses into batches of 25 for analysis
Phase 2: Chunk Analysis (MAP)
- Processes each batch to extract themes, patterns, and insights
- Identifies sentiment trends and respondent segments
- Progress: 10-80%
Phase 3: Synthesis (REDUCE)
- Merges all batch results into a cohesive analysis
- Consolidates duplicate themes across batches
- Calculates accurate segment sizes across the full dataset
- Generates executive summary and recommendations
- Progress: 85-95%
Phase 4: Finalization
- Stores the final analysis
- Deducts tokens based on response count

The token cost depends on survey size:
Formula: Base 8 + (responses / 50 x 2) + (text questions x 1)
