Embedding Surveys on Your Website

Integrate surveys into your website using popup, slider, or iframe embed modes.

Embed Revuloop surveys directly into your website for a seamless respondent experience. Choose from multiple display modes to match your site's design.

Embed Modes

Inline Embed

Display the survey within your page content:

  • Survey appears as part of the page flow
  • Responsive design adapts to container width
  • Best for dedicated survey pages

Show the survey in a modal overlay:

  • Triggered by button click or page event
  • Doesn't require page space until activated
  • Best for feedback collection on any page

Slider Embed

Survey slides in from the side of the screen:

  • Non-intrusive initial state
  • Expands on interaction
  • Best for ongoing feedback or NPS collection

Setting Up Embeds

From the Dashboard

  1. Open your survey
  2. Go to the Distribute tab
  3. Select Website Embed
  4. Choose your embed mode
  5. Configure allowed domains
  6. Copy the embed code

Using Embed Tokens

Embed access uses short-lived tokens for security:

  • Format: `rlet_` prefix
  • Token refresh: Tokens can be refreshed programmatically
  • Domain restriction: Limit which domains can use the embed

Via API

POST /api/v1/embed/token
{
  "surveyId": "your-survey-id",
  "allowedDomains": ["yoursite.com"]
}

Customization

  • Match your website's look and feel
  • Custom branding applies to embedded surveys
  • Responsive design for all screen sizes
  • Dark mode support

How Embed Analytics Are Counted

Embedded surveys skip the welcome screen and drop visitors straight into

the first question, so there is no Start button. Metrics are counted as

follows:

  • View: Recorded when the embed widget is actually displayed, an

inline embed rendering on the page, or a popup/slider opening. A

preloaded-but-hidden widget does not count until it becomes visible.

  • Started: Recorded only on the visitor's *first interaction* with

the survey: answering a question, navigating, or submitting. A

visitor who sees the widget but never engages counts as a view, not a

start, so your drop-off numbers reflect people who genuinely began

the survey.

  • Completed: Recorded on submission.

This matches standard survey-industry practice: passive widget

impressions stay out of the "started" count and out of the completion

rate denominator. Compare Views vs Started in the analytics Overview to

judge how compelling your widget placement is, and Started vs Completed

to judge the survey itself.

Best Practices

  • Restrict domains: Only allow your own domains for security
  • Refresh tokens: Use token refresh for long-running embeds
  • Test thoroughly: Check the embed on different screen sizes and browsers
  • Monitor performance: Track embed views and response rates in analytics
